Mental Health Stigma
We judge people based on the mental health issues that they might have. That's not okay. It's time for a change. Can we get better together?

DEPRESSION

More than 50% of people with depression do not get treatment. At the same time, around 16.2 million adults were diagnoised with depression in the United States alone. Who knows how many more cases are ignored or undiscovered because of the lack of understanding we have about the importance of our mental health?

SELF-HARM

Self harm is often a sign that a person is in emotional pain or stress. Yet many choose to keep quiet about their wounds out of shame, guilt, and the like. Can we help them?

SUICIDE

Suicide is the tenth leading cause of death, taken by people who can't bear their lives any more. Beyond that, there are suicide survivors, and those who attempted, who have to live with the sneers that we show towards this topic. How do we tell them that it's okay to talk about it normally, when we ignore it like we do now?

With so many people suffering from just these three issues alone, how many more feel the weight of the stigma that we place upon mental health and are afraid to speak out? We need to raise awareness and destigmatize the negative reputation of mental health.
